GARLAND OF THE ROCKIES TOUR ITINERARY 2025

DAY1 - ARRIVE VANCOUVER
& DAY 2 - VICTORIA

The tour is kicked off by taking the BC  Ferry across the Strait of Georgia  to the City of Victoria, the Capital of the Province of British Columbia.  55 acres of flowers and show gardens, including the Japanese, Italian, and Rose gardens awaits you at The Butchart Gardens. Embark on a city tour of Victoria, starting at Beacon Hill Park, Royal BC Museum, adjacent to Thunderbird Park with its carved totem poles, and Chinatown and see "mile zero", which is the starting point of the 7800Kms of Trans Canada Highway, stretching from Victoria BC to St Johns, NL. Take a return ferry at 6PM towards Vancouver and head to hotel after dinner.

DAY 3 - VANCOUVER

Start with an exciting 7D show, The Flyover Canada. Later part of morning is spent with a city tour of the city exploring the unique Canada Place, with it artistic & futuristic buildings and the 2010 Winter Olympic Flame. Drive to Stanley Park stopping over at the Totem Poles and other points before heading towards the famous Gas town, named after a fisherman “Gassy Jack”, who established it’s first Liquor Bar in the area. Quick snack time in the afternoon before heading to the Capilano Suspension Bridge & Tree Top experience. Later take the Grouse Mountain Gondola to the top of the mountain to the exciting views of the city of Vancouver while having Dinner there & then back to hotel.

DAY 4 - WHISTLER & KAMLOOPS

Early morning check-out from the hotel towards the hilly Hamlet of Whistler. Termed as having the best snowpack for skiing, we will take the Whistler Gondola to the top of Blackcomb Mountain, then on to the Peak-to-Peak Gondola, which is the Longest free standing Gondola in the world. Snack at the café on the top of the mountain overlooking the Rockies Mountain ranges in the backdrop. Explore the little village of Whistler at the base of the gondola. Head north towards Kamloops. Stop at the indigenous town of Lillooet to experience the age-old fishing & drying traditions by the local indigenous people. Continue with the drive on the Highway, through spectacular scenery towards Kamloops. Arrive in Kamloops, the only major city in central British Columbia.

DAY 5 - WELLS GRAY NAT. PARK

After a restful night and early breakfast start your day with your road trip through the communities of Clearwater and Blue River continue following the North Thompson River and then the Fraser River, towards the sleepy town of Valmont. Not before stopping at one of the numerous water falls in BC, Spahat Falls at Clearwater and then at hamlet of Blue River for a leisurely Catamaran River Safari with a hope to find the Black Bears along the Mud Lake shores. Immerse in nature’s power and beauty. Get to the hotel in Valemont relax in the setting sun after dinner.

DAY 6 - JASPER & ICEFIELD

Today's highlights include views of Mount Robson (12,972 feet), the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Going through the Rockies on The Yellowhead Highway we enter the Province of Alberta in Jasper National Park, move your watches 1 hour ahead from the BC time. We head towards Jasper, a small town which was ravaged by fire in 2024. We stop in the city to explore the shops and the historical train station, grab something to eat & spend quality time here, before heading on to majestic Maligne Canyon.

Learn about the unique features of the underground water system and amazing water carvings of the canyon walls over a period of million years. Walking along the canyon's trails enjoy the breathtaking views of waterfall and unusual rock formations.

Travel along the Icefield Parkway to Columbia Icefield. Listen to the history and geology of this area during the Ice Explorer tour that takes you to the surface of the massive Athabasca Glacier (weather permitting). On the journey, hear about the formation of glaciers, the interesting geological features of the area and step out onto the surface of the powerful ancient ice. Later a chance to walk on the glass floored Skywalk hanging by the side of the mountain. But not without an earlier stopover at the Athabasca Falls.

DAY 7 - YOHO NATIONAL PARK & LAKE LOUISE

In the morning depart VERY early from the hotel and reach the Jewel of the Rockies – The lake Louise. We catch the sunrise at the backdrop of the snow caped mountain tips around Lake Louise. Spend the morning at the lake enjoying the picturesque views and run down to the Fairmont Lake Louise Chateau for a quick cup of tea overlooking the large windows of the 1930 s hotel. stopping at Moraine Lake.

Head deep into Yoho National Park, with a loop towards the Spiral Tunnel Viewpoint, Emerald Lake, with its picturesque surroundings, Natural Bridges, where we can see the power of nature. 

Drive towards Banff on Trans Canada Highway 1. Head straight to Lake Minniewonka, a 20kms long man-made lake for an experience of a life time cruise on the lake. Sit back and hear the stories and history from the local guide onboard. We can catch a few wildlife as well if we are lucky.

DAY 8 - BANFF

Explore Banff, at Banff National Park, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, ascend by gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain experiencing panoramic views of six mountain ranges and the village below. Then, at your leisure, walk along the boardwalk of the Observation Deck (weather permitting), or shop for gifts. Afterward, return to Banff with a short stopover at the Bow Falls, Surprise corner, from where you can idolize the Iconic Fairmont Chateau Hotel built for King George VI during his visit to Alberta. Explore the town of Banff, immerse in the exotic experience it has to offer, shop till you drop.

DAY 8 - CALGARY

Late morning departure from Banff heading towards Calgary. Explore the city from the top of the Calgary Tower. All that the city is to offer, Winter Olympic venue, modern & old architecture building in downtown Calgary. 

This is the day when you have the whole of the evening for yourselves to shop & enjoy the last day of the tour.

Overnight in hotel and some may have flights during the night.
